Volunteers Bone Up for Spring Soccer
Parents and coaches helped clear the fields at Falls Community Park last Saturday to prepare for the season's April 6 opening.
The list of chores to prepare the fields at Falls Community Park for the spring soccer season might look a little different from other places around Bucks. There's painting the lines, clearing leaves, and, oh yes, one more thing, picking up discarded chicken bones.
Tim Gulich, one of the volunteers who came out to the park on a chilly Saturday morning, had gathered an impressive pile of the bones found in one of the eight soccer fields.
"Seagulls pick them up from the dump, pick the meat off and drop them here," said Gulich.Â

The Falls Township Soccer Club begins the spring season on April 6, with almost 350 kids expected to participate in the intramural league. Tryouts for the travel teams will be held April 24 and May 8, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
