LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Levittown woman who shot and killed her husband in broad daylight at the Bristol Wharf two years ago faces up to 30 years in state prison, authorities said.

The Bucks County District Attorney's Office said that Sammar Khan was sentenced Tuesday to 10 to 30 years in state prison for the shooting death of her husband, Faisal Iqbal, at the Bristol Borough Wharf.

Khan, 42, was sentenced before Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley after pleading guilty to third-degree murder on July 9. She also pleaded guilty to possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person.

During the hearing, testimony and evidence were presented that Khan was a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of Iqbal. Authorities, though, argued that the alleged abuse did not justify Khan's actions.

On May 30, 2023, Bristol Borough Police responded to the Bristol Borough Wharf for a report of a shooting.

Police officers found Khan at the scene with blood on her clothing and found her 38-year-old husband dead with multiple gunshot injuries.

Witnesses told detectives that Khan and Iqbal were talking near the coastline. They heard Khan speaking loudly in another language, followed by a "pop" sound, authorities said.

After Iqbal stood up and began wrestling with Khan, additional shots were heard. The pair moved toward the parking lot where Iqbal reportedly told a witness to call 911.

Authorities said witnesses then saw Khan shoot Iqbal two more times, causing him to collapse. As Iqbal lay on the ground, Khan allegedly walked over to him and shot him twice more in the torso and once in the head.
