• CDBG funding put on hold (lewistownsentinel.com) — Granville Township supervisors, meeting in Lewistown, approved funding for a new brush truck for Junction Fire House but learned their first attempt to qualify for CDBG money for fire safety equipment fell short of income requirements. Officials plan a second, more aggressive survey effort of local households after the new year, and residents in the Lewistown area are urged to respond so the department can secure needed emergency gear.
   

• Spartans freeze Huskies, 59-45 (lewistownsentinel.com) — Lewistown fans saw the Mifflin County girls fall 59-45 to visiting Milton Hershey in a turnover-plagued Mid-Penn Keystone matchup Wednesday at Husky Gym. Despite 15 points from senior guard Mackenzie Peachey and double-digit scoring from Payton Weaver and Jayda Kanagy, the Huskies couldn’t overcome early mistakes, though the JV squad did notch a convincing 38-20 win.
