The position in SFSD vacated by David Goodin is being filled by the district's assistant superintendent, Robert Rizzo.

ROYERSFORD, PA — In a unanimous vote Monday night the Spring-Ford Area School District school board ofcially filled its superintendent vacancy by making Robert Rizzo the Acting Superintendent until June 30.

Rizzo has been Assistant Superintendent in the district since 2019. Board approval was needed to fill the district superintendent position vacated by Dr. David Goodin in December. Rizzo will receive a stipend of $5,000 for taking on the role for the rest of the year, according to the Feb. 22 meeting agenda.

SFSD board member David Shafer expressed confidence in Rizzo's ability to fulfill the position. Before the vote was taken, Shafer said he "appreciated Mr. Rizzo stepping right up and right into the role and he has my full confidence and excitement for him to take on this new challenge."
