Friendship Hook & Ladder Firefighter Dies at 79
Thomas J. Boyer, 79, was also in the Limerick Bowling League and was a member of the VFW Post 6341 Royersford.

Thomas J. Boyer, 79, husband of the late Anna M. (Platco) Boyer, loving companion of June Meadows of Phoenixville, PA, died at home on Sunday evening, September 15, 2013.
Born in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Lewis and Margaret (Fuller) Boyer.
He attended Phoenixville High School.
Tom served four years in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956.
He worked 28 years for the former Phoenix Steel Corporation, and then at Martin Marietta for Security ProtectionTechnology for 20 years.
He was a member of Friendship Fire Company in Phoenixville, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company, Friendship Hook & Ladder Fire Company in Royersford, VFW Post 1564 Phoenixville, VFW Post 6341 Royersford, Phoenixville and Limerick Bowling Leagues and the Polish Club in Phoenixville where he enjoyed dancing.
In addition to golf, Tom loved bowling, dancing, traveling, bus trips to the casinos and scratch off's. Tom was loved by all who knew him, he was always in good spirits and enjoyed life, his family and friends.
He fought his battle with cancer with courage, and with his upbeat nature.
Surviving in addition to his loving companion of 16 years, June Meadows, are:
Grandchildren, Amanda Boyer of Royersford, PA;
Jordan Boyer of Royersford, PA;
Daughter-in-Law, Kacsey Boyer of Royersford, PA;
Brother, James Boyer and wife Sherry of Boyertown, PA;
Sister, Kathleen Creasy and husband James of Royersford, PA;
Brother-In-Law, Fred Casmay of Phoenixville, PA;
Many Nieces and Nephew and his Cat, Patches.
Also surviving are June's Sons:
David Meadows and wife Susan;
Gary Meadows and wife Marty;
Ron Meadows and wife Linda;
Grandchildren, David and Beth Meadows; Bryan and Kristen Meadows; Dalton Meadows;
and Four Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Son, David B. Boyer, Sister, Pat Casmay and Brother, William Boyer.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Ann Catholic Church, Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville, PA, on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 am.
Burial will be private in Limerick Garden of Memories.
A viewing will be held in the church on Friday morning from 9:00 am to 10:45 am.
