Limerick Patch: When did you open your business?

Annamarie's: Annamarie's opened in October of 1994. I had graduated from Spring-Ford the year before and started Culinary School. I came home for a break, and the business was for sale. I have been there ever since.

A: Our ideal customer is EVERYONE. That is what is great about the restaurant industry, everybody eats. Our restaurant has a strong hometown, family feel. We are lucky to have a loyal local customer base from Royersford and the surrounding areas. Over the last 18 years they have become like family.

A: I think we are unique for a couple of reasons. First, I just plain LOVE food. I want our customers to love their food too. We try to vary our menu so there is something for everyone. Yeah, you can come in for eggs over light and toast and coffee, or pancakes, but you can also bring the kids for fluffernutter stuffed french toast, or you could choose a goat cheese- balsamic- arugula omelet. We try to offer things that other places don't have, and they are all cooked with love. It took us months to perfect our vegan and gluten free pancakes, we could have just put the first version on the menu, but they just weren't perfect enough yet. It HAS to be right. Our customers deserve our best. Our second unique trait, would be our connection to where we live. I grew up here, my employees grew up here. We have an immense pride in our community and try let it shine daily.

LP: What made you decide to open a business?

A: At 19, I opened the restaurant thinking I could make some money and have some fun until I decided exactly what I wanted to do with my life. Well, 1 husband, 2 kids, and 18 years later, I am still here.

LP: What’s your most popular item?

A: Our most popular item is actually a hard question. Little kids like the giant pancakes. The high-school kids love the funnel cake french toast, and the cinnabun pancake and the taco omelet, are really big sellers too. There is honestly something for everyone.

LP: What makes your community special?

A: Our community is special because of the hearts and loyalty of the people who live in it. We are lucky to still live the "small town" experience. There is nowhere I would rather live, have a business, or raise my kids.

LP: Where can customers find your specials?

A: Customers can find our specials on our Facebook page daily.
