Liberty Steam Fire Co. Donates To Spring City Police
The fire company donated over $3,000, part of its small games of chance profits, to the police department for necessary computer upgrades.

The Liberty Steam Fire Co. donated just over $3,300 to the Spring City Police Department last week, financing the purchase of computer upgrades.
The upgraded system will improve the office’s record keeping, enhancing the tools that officer have during investigations.
“It benefits the borough by offsetting cost in the budget, it enhances public safety and it enhances public service,” said Spring City Police Chief Anthony Kuklinski.

The donation is funded by the profits of the club’s small games of chance license, from games in the social hall of the fire company, which has a small games of chance license.
As a licensed small games of chance operator, the fire company is required to expend 70 percent of all proceeds back into the community, according to state law.

“All the years that Spring City Borough has supported us,” said George Watson, Liberty Steam Fire Co. Trustee. “We wanted to give back.”
The Liberty Steam Fire Co. holds regular dinners on Friday evenings at 6 p.m. in the social hall, located at 118 Hall Street in Spring City.
