LIMERICK, PA — Limerick Township supervisors Tuesday night approved plans to expand Chick-fil-A at 70 Buckwalter Road.

The board authorized solicitor John J. Iannozzi to prepare a resolution to approve the expansion, which includes adding a second drive-through, enlarging the kitchen, and adding parking spaces.

Julia Han, a lawyer representing Chick-fil-A, said the expansion will allow customers to move quickly through the drive-in. Lines will be painted to provide easier access.

The Chick-fil-A employees will take orders on I-pads and bring the food out to cars. The plan also calls for a new trash disposal area.

Traffic engineer, Patrick Downey, of Dynamic Traffic, Newtown, said the key improvement is the drive-thru addition which will triple the amount of vehicles to 36 at one time.

Downey said the Chick-fil-A drive-thru was not as busy when it opened in 2015 as it is today.

When it opened, the first 100 customers who showed up were given a wristband to receive a Chick-fil-A meal for a year.
