Moms Talk

Got a question of interest to area moms? Send questions you'd like to see published and answered to editor David Powell at david.powell@patch.com.

We're going to start taking time out on Limerick Patch each week to answer the questions that concern our moms. We welcome all moms, dads, grandparents, friends and family to check out our questions and add to our answers. This space is for you, to both ask and answer any questions!

We know that being a parent means getting advice from others, and this space can be that forum for you. As Hillary Clinton’s book title implied, “It takes a village…” and moms in Limerick, Royersford and Spring City can rely on Patch to be there with an answer to their parenting questions.

This week, we were asked about ways to enjoy the rays.

“I wanted to ask about parks - anyone planning any outdoor activities next week? Expecting 50s and even - wow - 60s - next week. We're right in Lansdale Borough and plan to hit up a few parks - how about you?”

Great idea, Kali! With warmer weather this week―we could hit 60 degrees today―and what is expected to be a gorgeous weekend, it is a wonderful time to head to the area’s many parks.

If you are in the Spring-Ford area, check out these must-see outdoor spaces.

  1. With playgrounds, basketball courts and picnic spaces, this spot in Royersford is a great space to get some energy out and enjoy the family this weekend.
  2. This playground is great for the youngest in the family that will be sure to cure that cabin fever.
  3. : Hidden in the bend of the Schuylkill River, this cozy park is a great place to take in nature. Just sit back and watch the water float by or enjoy a picnic riverside.
  4. Jungle gyms, slides and swings, just music to a kid’s ears. Ideal for all ages, this is a good source for fun.

Enjoy the great outdoors this week, and get the kids out of that cabin fever funk. Take some time to enjoy the local parks during this warm up, and defrost the family.

If you have a question you’d like answered next week, please respond in our comments. Likewise, if you think we missed your favorite park, let us know there, too! This space is for you!
