Obituary: Betty L. O'Brien, 71

Former resident of Royersford; involved in Silver Sneakers; July 11

Betty L. (Rice) O’Brien, 71, wife of Daniel G. O’Brien of Orlando, FL, formerly of Royersford, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in the Florida Hospital, Orlando.  Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late William N. and Lucille S. (Hoffman) Rice.

Mrs. O’Brien was a graduate of the Antonelli Medical & Professional Institute and had been a licensed phlebotomist for over 20 years.  She was a member of S. Orlando Baptist Church and Trinity E. C. Church and had sung in the choir and taught Sunday school.  She was involved in the Silver Sneakers and prayer group at the YMCA.  She enjoyed word games, puzzles, and painting, Phillies baseball, classic movies and old time radio.  Most importantly, she loved visiting with her family. 

In addition to her loving husband of 55 years, Mrs. O’Brien is survived by her six daughters, Denise D’Zara, Danielle Landis, Diana Beard, Dawn Everette, Dominique Conkle, and Dena Mullin; three sons, Daniel, Douglas and Duane O’Brien; six sisters and one brother; 20 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 66 s. Limerick Road, Royersford, PA, on Monday, July 16, 2012, at 11:00 am, with the Rev. Ralph W. Owens officiating.  Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at the Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, PA.  Friends will be received from 9:00-11:00 am.  Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford.  Condolences may be offered online at www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
