Obituary: Dorothy L. (Latshaw) Ritschard, 87

Dorothy L. (Latshaw) Ritschard, age 87, wife of the late Albert O. Ritschard, of Douglassville, PA, formerly of Spring City, died Tuesday evening, July 17th, 2012 in the Sanatoga Center, Lower Pottsgrove, PA.  Born in East Vincent Twp, she was a daughter of the late Alice M. (Tyson) and Russell T. Latshaw, Sr.  She was a graduate of the former Spring City High School. Mrs. Ritschard was well known in the area as the co-owner of the former Sunny Slope Dairy and manager of the ice cream bar there for over 30 years. Following their retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling with their Motor Home club. Mrs. Ritschard was a member of the Ridge Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Spring City Library Club, as well as a life member of Brownback’s United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Ritschard is survived by two sons: James P., husband of Brenda (Kimble) Ritschard, of South Coventry, PA; W. Barry, husband of Susan (Bowman) Ritschard, of East Coventry, PA; granddaughter: Amanda (Ritschard) Kovaschetz and her husband Nicholas; granddaughter Eliza (Ritschard) Alexander and her husband Christopher; one great-granddaughter: Sawyer Jane Kovaschetz; two step-grandchildren: Mark Cassidy and Meghan Cassidy Benner. Mrs. Ritschard was pre-deceased by two brothers: Russell T. Latshaw and John F. Latshaw. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Brownback's United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road, Spring City, PA 19475 on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 7:00 - 8:30 PM Sunday evening at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468. A closed casket calling time will be held from 9:30 - 10:00 AM Monday morning at the Church. Condolences may be offered online by visiting www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
