$60K State Grant Awarded To Local Ambulance Company For New Vehicle
Friendship Ambulance of Royersford was granted $60,000 from the PA Dept. of Community and Economic Development to buy a new vehicle.
ROYERSFORD, PA — A local ambulance company has been awarded with state grant dollars to help with the purchase of a new vehicle to add to its existing fleet.
Friendship Ambulance of Royersford, which serves the borough and other surrounding communities, was recently given $60,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
The grant money was announced by the office of State Sen. Katie Muth, a Montgomery County Democrat.

Friendship Ambulance, which is a division of the Royersford Fire Department, plans to use the new funding to purchase a new utility SUV vehicle to better equip their emergency medical services workers in responding to medical emergencies, according to Muth's office.
"The new vehicle will help Friendship Ambulance provide care during emergency calls and will also be equipped to act as an on-scene management or command vehicle when an emergency call has multiple agencies responding," reads a statement from Muth's office.

The senator stated that the grant was "great news" for Friendship Ambulance, Royersford Borough and surrounding communities that are also served by the ambulance company, saying she was glad to support the organization's grant application.
"We need to continue to invest state funding into our local EMS and fire companies to ensure they have the equipment, support, and resources they need to continue the great work they are doing for all our families," Muth's statement reads.
The ambulance company says that it serves residents and businesses in both Montgomery and neighboring Chester Counties. It's headquarters and administrative offices are located in Royersford Borough, Montgomery County.
