Pennycuick Takes Oath of Office to Represent 24th Senate District
The 24th district covers northern Montgomery County, including Limerick Township, and eastern Berks County.

HARRISBURG, PA — Sen. Tracy Pennycuick took the oath of office this week to represent the citizens of the 24th district of the Pennsylvania Senate.
Pennycuick, a Republican, was elected by voters in November to serve a six-year term representing the newly drawn district, which covers eastern Berks County and northern Montgomery County.
The district covers 438.4 square miles and a population of 254,564.

She previously served in the House of Representatives. Pennycuick replaced Republican Bob Mensch, who retired at the end of his term.
Pennycuick won the seat over Democrat Jill Dennin, with 52 percent of the votes.

“It’s a tremendous honor to represent the citizens of Berks and Montgomery counties in the Senate and I look forward to being their voice on issues that matter to them,” Pennycuick said. “The new session promises to be a busy two years, and I’m ready to get to work advancing legislation that benefits Pennsylvania taxpayers and families.”
Pennycuick said that some of the top issues are building a strong and diverse Pennsylvania economy, ensuring that every child has access to an education and advancing measures that provide veterans with the benefits.
Pennycuick is a U.S. Army combat veteran and helicopter pilot, serving three combat tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and Desert Storm, earning the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Following her military service, she served as the director of Montgomery County Veterans Affairs and operated an aviation services company, employing 17 people. She lives in Harleysville with her husband, Rick. They have four adult children and two grandchildren.
