Royersford's Victory Park Wins $73,000 Grant Award
The funds will go toward making various improvements at Victory Park.
ROYERSFORD, PA — Royersford has received a major funding boost for Victory Park's development in the latest round of awards from Montgomery County.
The $73,500 award is part of the Montco 2040 Implementation Grants, which provided a total of $2.5 million to 13 projects that meet the county's stated goals.
"The (Victory Park) project includes establishing permeable, paved pathways that are ADA accessible, upgrading playground surfaces from wood chips to poured-in-place surfaces to meet ADA standards, and replacing all current picnic tables and bench seating with an equal selection of ADA-accessible options," the county said in a summary of the work.

2024 marks the ninth year of grant funding through the Montco 2040 program, which aims to help create connections between communities, improve local economies, and promote sustainable
Specifically, projects were evaluated for their "impact, equity, readiness, and consistency" with local and county planners. Projects that improved walkability or bikeability in the region were also given added consideration.

A total of 140 grants worth $17.8 million have been awarded since the program was originally launched.
