In-School Transmission Forces Spring-Ford Grades 5-7 Into Remote
The 5-6-7 Grade Center in Spring-Ford SD went into 2 weeks of remote instruction after an in-school transmission of COVID-19.
SPRING FORD, PA — Tuesday began 14 days of mandatory remote instruction for all students in Spring Ford's 5-6-7 Grade Center after the Montgomery County health department identified a case of in-school transmission of COVID-19.
Spring-Ford Area School District was notified Jan. 25 that the Montgomery County Office of Public Health (MCOPH) identified one case of in-school transmission of COVID-19 related to the 5-6-7 Grade Center.
The school district told parents it would follow the department's recommendation and move the Grade Center's fifth, sixth, and seventh graders to virtual learning for two weeks, starting Jan. 26.

The SFASD said it expects to reopen the Grade Center to in-person learning on Feb. 9.
"Unlike other closures, this closure is due to in-school transmission. The extended 14-day closure is in place to reduce the additional spread in our school community as required by the MCOPH.
Students should follow their daily class schedule through Canvas," the announcement from SFASD Superintendent Dr. David Goodin said.
