Spring-Ford Boys Cross Country Win PAC For Third Straight Year

ROYERSFORD, PA — On a sunny fall afternoon Thursday, the Spring-Ford boys cross country team earned their third consecutive Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship.

Spring-Ford scored 37 points, narrowly defeating rivals Owen J. Roberts, who scored 39 points.

The Rams used their tight-knit pack to their benefit: the spread from their first runner to the fifth runner, the five scoring runners, was only 40 seconds.

The team was led by senior Jake McKenna, who came in second overall in the 5k race in 16:12. Owen J. Roberts' Liam Conway won the race in 16:07.

Spring-Ford followed that up with scorers Shane Ainscoe (16:22, 4th), John Zawislak (16:33, 8th), Milan Sharma (16:40, 10th) and Zach Smith (16:52, 13th).

The race was held at Heebner Park in Worcester Township.

Next up for the Rams is the PIAA District One Championships at Lehigh University on Friday, Oct. 27.
