2020 Spring-Ford Grad Dies After Car Crash
The Spring-Ford High School community is mourning the loss of wrestler Louis Carbajal, a member of the class of 2020.

ROYERSFORD, PA — A recent Spring-Ford High School graduate and wrestler died Monday following a car crash that also injured three others. Louis Carbajal, 18, was injured in a crash on Aug. 10 in North Coventry Township.
Carbajal, a 2020 graduate, had been planning to attend Kutztown University this fall to major in special education. Also in the one-car accident were three Owen J. Roberts High School recent graduates. All four were treated at Reading Hospital after the crash.
Carbajal wrestled on the Spring-Ford team in the 195 and 220-pound weight classes, earning a 30-15 record last season. In District 1-AAA North and South East AAA Regional tournaments, he was runner-up in the 195 weight class.

The high school wrestling community as well as the larger Royersford and Spring-Ford communities expressed grief and condolences to the young man's family. Friends have set up online fundraisers to support the family.
"Rest in Peace Lou. Words cannot even describe the feeling of not being able to see you again. Lou had this type of energy where nobody and I mean nobody could even come close to matching it. He will forever be remembered in my heart, as well as many others. I love you bud, see you up there one day," friend and GoFundMe organizer Brian Brown wrote.
Another friend, Shane Standhardt, created a GoFundMe page to help the family with medical bills. "Anyone who had met Louie knows how great he is and how much everyone loves him. ... prayers to Lou," he wrote.
The Royerford Fire Department shared a post on Facebook yesterday, originated by the Spring-Ford Rams Wrestling Team.
The Spring-Ford Area High School posted a honorary statement on Facebook that includes resources for helping young people handle grief.
