Spring-Ford Seniors Awarded Kiwanis Scholarships

Local students are honored for what they do outside the classroom.

 

Six area high school seniors will be starting their college careers with a little extra funding as a "thank you" for what they have done for their communities while still in high school.

The Kiwanis Club of Phoenixville has awarded $500 scholarships to six students.

According to Kiwanis: These scholarships are awarded to students who have actively participated in service activities in school and the community and who intend to continue their education after graduation.  The scholarship winners are selected from written applications, including two letters of recommendations, and are presented to two students each from Phoenixville Area High School, Chester County Technical College High School and Spring-Ford Area High School.

The Kiwanis Club says it "is pleased to recognize these students who have demonstrated their understanding of the importance of service to school and community and wish them the best of luck as they continue their education."
