The Latest on Lebow

The store front is dark. The doors are locked. But Lebow Furniture isn't quite gone just yet.

The popular furniture store, which has become an icon of the Main Street landscape in Royersford, has been in operation for 63 years. 

The store was started in 1949 by Chick and Adele Lebow and is currently run by president Roger Lebow and vice president Susan Lebow Moran. The business has always been family-owned and operated and currently has a staff of 30 employees.

But, on March 8, the doors were closed. From Friday through March 14, the store will remained closed while the staff restocks and prepares for its final sale.

The store will reopen on Friday, March 15 for a three-day sale to liquidate its items, "slashing prices" as the sign hanging on the front door states.

The sale will run on Friday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to the Lebow website, the store will put all items on sale, at discounts up to 80 percent off. Cash and credit will be accepted during the three-day sale. 

After this weekend, the store will only be open on weekends to customers, Friday, Saturday and Sundays, until the store deems it necessary to close.
