WATCH: Joel Embiid And The 76ers Visit Spring-Ford Wednesday
Joel Embiid and some of his Philadelphia 76ers teammates paid a visit to Spring-Ford on Wednesday.

ROYERSFORD, PA — It's not everyday that one of the greatest basketball players on planet Earth shoots hoops in your school's gymnasium.
But that's just what happened on Wednesday afternoon, as Sixers superstar center Joel Embiid, along with some of his teammates, paid a visit to Spring-Ford.
Before a crowd of students and teachers in the gymnasium at Upper Providence Elementary School, Embiid, Amir Johnson, their teammates, and mascot Franklin participated in various events, including a free throw shooting contest.

"I think we should have a dunk contest instead," Johnson, who missed the first two free throws, jokingly told the crowd.
Although they've struggled the past few games, Embiid and Johnson, along with Ben Simmons, JJ Reddick, and Robert Covington, have led a resurgent Sixers team into playoff contention this year. They currently sit at 14-16, just three games behind the Detroit Pistons and the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference. This comes after a string of seasons finishing among the worst in the NBA.
