Expect Traffic Delays in Lower Moreland

Aqua began its water main replacement project yesterday and local residents can expect some traffic delays on or near the following steets:

• Boyd Road (between Welsh and Red Lion Roads)
• Dale Road (between Boyd and Red Lion Roads)
• Stahl Drive (between Boyd and Welsh Roads)
• Ely Avenue (between Stahl Drive and High Road)
• Barnsley Avenue (between Stahl Drive and High Road)
• High Road (between Welsh and Red Lion Roads)

The new main will increase service reliability and improve firefighting capabilities in the area. Aqua will have an inspector on the job each day to answer any questions you might have. The $1,041,000 project began on Wed., Dec. 14 and will  involve the installation of 7,100 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main. The new main will replace the existing 6-inch cast iron main. The main installation, service transfers, street tie-ins, and final paving restoration is expected to be completed in April 2012.

Work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. daily, and some Saturdays may be necessary to maintain the project schedule. Throughout the project, residents will have access to their properties, and access will be provided for emergency, mail, and trash service. Additionally, all equipment will be removed from the project areas prior to the upcoming holiday weekends.

Temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted in the area of construction.
We will notify 24-hours in advance of a scheduled shutdown. If an emergency shutdown should occur, we will restore service as soon as possible.
