Got Yard Waste? Township Has Started Its Collections

Monday is the day to rid your yard of debris.

Sticks and stones can break your bones ... and your lawnmower. As the grass starts growing, and the trees start budding, it's almost that time again: mowing season. So, what can a township resident do to rid their yard of waste?

The Township can help. The Lower Moreland Public Works Department has started its 2013 Yard Waste Collection.

"Collection for these items will be every Monday, please have bundles cut into 3 foot sections and tied with twine or string," said the Lower Moreland Township website.

If you need bags to fill, the township helps you out there, too.

"Yard Waste bags are sold at the Township Building," said its site. "Prices are three for $1 and a bundle of 50 for $16."

The yard waste is not picked up by local trash collectors, and instead should be placed in accepted bags offered by the township or bundled as directed.
