Huntingdon Valley Fire Company Responds to Gas Leak

HVFC responded to a residential gas leak shortly after 3 a.m. this morning. The following information is from the fire company.

Station 8 was dispatched to a residential gas leak at the corner of Kent and Welsh Roads early this morning at 3:03 am.Β 

A caller informed Philadelphia 911 of a strong odor of gas and the sound of hissing coming from outside the residence.Β PFD dispatched an engine and a ladder and upon arrival confirmed a serious gas leak from the A/B corner of the house at the gas meter, and also asked for Montco to dispatch Β as the residence was in Lower Moreland.Β 

PFD remained on scene to cover side A.Β Engine 8-1 and Engine 11 responded to the scene, Engine 95 responded to station 8 for cover.Β PECO arrived on scene to shut off the gas and companies were released when gas levels subsided.
