Huntingdon Valley Hurricanes Open Season With Victory

Playing in its first game, HV picked up a 34-28 win over Lenape Valley.

The Huntingdon Valley Hurricanes (HV) opened its 2012 Basketball season with a 34-28 victory over visiting Lenape Valley (LV). HV used strong play from its guards as Gunnar Bogorowski (10 points, 4 rebounds) and Bryce Horn (10 points, 3 assists) combined for 20 points to push HV to the victory.

"This team plays very unselfishly," head coach Eric Keys said. "Every game it is a different player stepping up to do the scoring and tonight it was Gunnar and Bryce. Sometimes it is Forest (Keys), Jordan (Zoubroulis), John (Davies) or someone else, but in the end this team likes to win and whoever is hot is who is going to get the ball"
Β
Bogorowski scored all his points in the first half while Horn scored all his in the second. Jordan Zoubroulis (3 points, 8 rebounds) Forest Keys (4 Points, 11 Rebounds) Jake Himmelstein (1 point 18 rebounds), Shane Cohen (2 points) and John Davies (4 points, 3 rebounds) all contributed in the win. HV also received a strong game on the defensive side of the ball from Andrew Finnegan (4 rebounds)
Β
"Starting the season 1-0 is a good feeling," Keys said. "This is a long season and I hope the kids learn the game of basketball and continue to improve. At the end of the day that is all that matters"
