LMPD: Man Found with 40 Bags of Suspected Heroin, Needles

Police responded to a 2-car accident where the victims were hit by a driver with some questionable items in his pockets.

Police responded to the report of a crash in the 1300 block of Byberry Rd. shortly before 4 p.m. last Friday, May 25. While speaking to the driver of the striking vehicle, Robert Hawk, 31 of Warrington, the officer reported his pupils were pinpoint and he appeared unsteady on his feet. Hawk had apparent cuts to his arms and minor scrapes on his face from the crash.

Hawk made a right turn on to Walsh Lane from Byberry Rd., and crossed into the oncoming traffic lane where he initiated the accident with another car. While speaking to police Hawk admitted he took Suboxone earlier in the day, and it was the police’s opinion that Hawk was under the influence.

While conducting a search of Hawk, police found 40 separate glassine baggies containing blue wax paper with suspected heroin in his cargo pocket, and 3 used blue wax paper sheets inside the 1 cut glassine baggie. According to the report police also removed 3 needles from Hawk’s right front pocket.

He was transported to the police station where his father later picked him up. All four occupants of the struck car suffered injuries according to the report. No other information was available. Charges for Hawk are pending blood results; β€œcriminalistics results” and police are looking into text messages on his cell phone related to the drug trafficking.
