Lower Moreland Parent And Salon Owner Invites Community To Locks Of Love Hair Cut Event

Dayna Shain, a Lower Moreland parent and owner of Salon LaVogue in Bucks County, will host the hair donation event at her business.

LOWER MORELAND, PA — The local community has been invited to participate in a Locks of Love haircutting event next week at a salon owned and operated by a parent of a local school student.

Dayna Shain, who owns the Salon LaVogue in Richboro, Bucks County, is hosting the Locks of Love event at her business on Feb. 21.

It is the 16th year the event has taken place.

Students, teachers and parents of kids who attend Lower Moreland's Pine Road Elementary School are invited to take part of the event, where hair is cut and donated to individuals who have experienced hair loss due to medical reasons.

The hair donated during the Lower Moreland event will be used to make wigs or hairpieces for financial disadvantaged children, according to the Lower Moreland Township School District.

Those interested in donating hair during the event can choose from slots at 1:15 p.m. or 1:45 p.m.

Salon LaVogue is located at 130 Almshouse Road, Unit 306, in Richboro, Bucks County.

Those looking to donate their hair must have hair that is at least 10 inches when combed into a ponytail. The hair must also be free of any chemicals.

Anyone who participates in Locks of Love will be treated to a free hair style and cut after the length is removed for the donation.
