2 Teens Charged With Murder In Montco Basketball Player's Death
Police announced a suspected motive in the shooting that left 19-year-old rising basketball star Hamid Boyd dead.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Two teenagers have been arrested and a third is wanted in the apparent gang-related killing of 19-year-old rising basketball star Hamid Boyd just after Thanksgiving, the Montgomery County District Attorney's office announced Tuesday.
Mark Fields, 18, of Norristown, and Theodore Adams, 17, of Philadelphia, have been charged with first degree murder. A third suspect, Zikyer Washington, 20, of Norristown, is wanted.
The trio were a part of a gang called "1200," which rivals a different gang called "The Ave," which Boyd was a part of, police said. Two days before the killing, the three posed for a social media photo on Washington's account with Washington holding a gun in the air and the caption reading "MAN (expletive) DA AVE,"authorities said.

On the afternoon of Sunday, Nov. 30, the three men were together at an apartment on Johnson Highway. Police said they left and drove in a white Chevrolet Cruze, owned by Washington's girlfriend, to the 1000 block of Powell Street. That's where they shot Boyd several times as he walked home from the store, and then fled the scene and returned to the Johnson Highway apartment, the DA said.
Fields was arrested on Dec. 12 and arraigned on Dec. 13. Adams was arrested without incident on Tuesday and is being extradited to Montgomery County. No bail is available for first degree murder charges.
