LOWER MORELAND, PA — The Eastern Center for Arts and Technology has chosen as its Student of the Month for April Sarah Brodsky, a Lower Moreland High School senior who studies commercial art at the Willow Grove-based campus.

Brodsky, who followed in her older sister, Rachel's, footsteps in attending Eastern, started off in the honors art program at Lower Moreland High School while she was in ninth grade before moving onto participation in AP Studio Art as a sophomore.

"Her sister spoke about the Culinary Arts program with the same passion that Sarah felt for the art field," Eastern said in a news release. "Upon visiting EASTERN, she knew the Commercial Art program would set her on the right path and open her eyes to the different career options in the commercial art industry."

In her home community, she recently created a mural at the Lower Moreland High School library that was designed to help inspire school spirit. The mural was titled, "Fall Into The World of Lower Moreland."

"Sarah is a hardworking and dedicated student," Nicole Mohrey, Brodsky's commercial art instructor, said in a statement. "She has a great deal of artistic talent, is kind and personable, and is a great example of what an EASTERN student can accomplish with focus and determination. I am so proud of all of her accomplishments."

Outside of school, Brodsky works as a gymnastics instructor at the Acrobatic School of Circus Arts, where she leads beginner through advanced level gymnastics and acrobatics classes, according to Eastern.

After graduation, Brodsky says she hopes to land an internship at a design or marketing firm for a year before she begins college.

She ultimately envisions having a career in web design and computer science.
