Police Log: Crack Cocaine Drop-off with Daughter, DUI and More Theft From Auto

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

November 29 – Narcotics Sale – Morphine, Heroin, Codeine

  • 3400 block of Huntingdon Pike

Police responded to a report of a reckless driver near the area of Red Lion Rd. and Philmont Ave. Police found the black Chevrolet pick-up parked at the Citgo gas station on Huntingdon Pike.

Officers made contact with the driver, Jennifer Dougherty, 35, of Philadelphia, who was in possession of an expired drivers’ license and also had her 5-year old daughter in the car with her (was later revealed she was 6-years-old). While speaking with Dougherty, officers detected signs of impairment. She lost her balance several times and could not follow simple instructions when given field sobriety tests.

She was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. After a search was done, officers found a clear, plastic lunch bag with a white powder substance believed to be crack-cocaine. Additionally, officers found an orange prescription bottle with no label containing 3 orange hexagonal tablets and 2 half orange hexagonal tablets that were later found to be Suboxone. There were also 3 white round tablets found in the bottle.

Dougherty admitted that she purchased the cocaine with her daughter in the car, and she was going to give the cocaine to another friend to make a $20 profit. She was arraigned on charges for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Possession of a Controlled Substance, as well as DUI and related traffic offenses.

November 28 – Theft from Auto

  • Chuck’s Service Center, 2304 Huntingdon Pike

James Hartnett, 47, of Plymouth Meeting, reported that items were taken from his car that was parked in the lot of Chuck’s Service Center over the weekend. Hartnett, the assistant manager of the facilities maintenance at Academy of the New Church, said the car is owned by ANC and discovered the passenger-side window was broken.

The white Dodge Dakota also had two full bags of tools stolen from the back seat (valued at $500). The actor apparently used a screwdriver type tool in an attempt to pry the window open, according to reports.

November 27 – Theft

  • 1400 block of Grasshopper Rd.

Gerrie Pennock, 66, called LMPD to report two garden gnomes yard lamps were taken from her lawn. She didn’t know the make of the lights or have serial numbers, but estimated each light cost $12.

November 21 – Theft

  • Kings Automotive, 2727 Philmont Ave.

Joseph Glover, 50, of Trenton, NJ, owner of Kings Automotive, contacted LMPD to report a tool was missing from his business. The tool is a Launch Diagun and Adaptor. It’s red with a black face and is around the size of an iPhone. It is valued at $2,999 and has been missing since Oct. 24.

November 21 – Burglary – forced entry

LMPD responded to a report at 1:30 a.m. that there was a breakin at Franconi’s Pizza. Police found the front door smashed and a big boulder was found inside the store that was used to break the glass. There was nobody inside, and the owner, David Tassone, said about $200 was missing from the cash register. The register was also broken and is valued at $400. The owner also told police it would cost him approximately $700 to fix the broken door.

Franconi’s Pizza does not have video surveillance, but neighboring businesses do and it’s possible that the actor may have walked along the front of the other businesses. Cops dusted the inside of the place for fingerprints.

November 20 – Theft

  • 3700 block of Blake Rd.

Daenette Jackson, 43, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that her Acer laptop computer was stolen (valued at $1,800) after someone had entered her unlocked car overnight. Jackson found both front doors to her car were ajar. It was in the driveway and was not locked.

November 20 – DUI

  • Area of Byberry Rd. & Greg Lane

Brian Schuster, 30, of Willow Grove, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Schuster failed field sobriety tests and registered a .143% BAC. Officers stopped him after his black Mazda sedan was seen drifting on the road and crossed over the fog line.

November 20 – Theft

  • 160 block of Kirk Drive

Gail Goldman, 58, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that two of her cars were opened overnight and entered. Both cars had light ransacking in the glove compartment and middle consoles. Approximately $2 in change was taken from the Green Town and Country. Nothing was taken from the Nissan Altima.

November 20 – Attempted theft from auto

  • 900 block of Carnegie Lane

Meghan Keegen, 52, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that cars parked in her driveway had been entered overnight. The cars in the driveway were left unlocked, and her daughter’s car, which was locked and parked in front of the house, was not entered. Β
