Police Log: Hit & Run, DUI and a Stolen Ambulance

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

January 29 – Narcotics Sale – Morphine, Heroin, Codeine

  • CVS – 670 Welsh Rd.

Wade Collins, 34, of Philadelphia, and Corey Hill, 40, of Philadelphia, were arrested after posing as a doctor to call in prescriptions to CVS for Phenergan with Codeine, a DEA Schedule V Controlled Substance, and another antibiotic.

The pharmacist, Stefan Mishchuk, told police he received the prescription order from a person named Joseph Walker, and it was very similar to previous prescription requests, usually called in on Sunday’s. Because of his suspicions, he called the on-call doctor who the prescription was from to see if these prescriptions were valid, which they were not.

Police coordinated with the pharmacist to sell the prescriptions to the subjects. Once the two males arrived at CVS and once prescription was filled, police apprehended them. Hilton had several pieces of paper which had the name β€œJoseph Walker” and β€œBrenda Powell” on them.

  • 3000 block of Pine Rd.

Leonid Flaksman, 38, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that he was struck by a car while walking northbound on Pine Rd. According to reports, an unknown truck made contact with Flaksman’s upper left body causing him to fall to the ground. Even though he couldn’t identify what kind of car it was, the passenger side mirror housing broke off from the accident and police have identified it as coming from a 2002 Dodge 1500 truck.

Flaksman reported injuries to his left arm and ribs although he declined medical treatment.Β 

January 29 – DUI

  • Area of Byberry Rd. & Reading Way

Brian Deal, 29, of Hatboro, was given a citation after he admitted he drank three or four beers prior the driving. Police pulled him over for crossing the double yellow line repeatedly and for speeding. He registered a .15% blood alcohol content and faces criminal charges pending lab results.

January 28 – DUI

  • Area of Philmont Ave. & Tomlinson Rd.

Iaroslav Lepisov, 22, of Philadelphia, was arrested for a DUI shortly after 3 a.m. Police observed Lepisov in his black Lexus IS300 speeding, running a red light and stop sign before pulling him over. He registered a .13% on the preliminary breath test.

January 26 – Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Pro Life Ambulance – 2727 Philmont Ave.

The owner of Pro Life Ambulance, Marat Bagramyan, 28, reported that an ambulance was stolen from the parking lot of his business. The ambulance in question is a 1998 Ford E-350, box style, white with red/blue lettering, with β€œPro Life Ambulance” and β€œ#21” displayed on it. Bagramyan contacted the landlord/owner of the property, John Weiss, but he knew nothing about it.
