Psst! Your Neighbors May Be Paying Less Rent
Average rents in Lower Moreland vary more than $600 per month street-to-street.

If you rent in Lower Moreland Township area, you may be interested to know that your monthly rent might be higher than your neighbors.
According to City Data, of the 11,281 residents in the township, only seven percent rent. Those seven percent will find it rather interesting that the township is greatly divided when it comes to what rent can cost per month.
A website called RichBlocksPoorBlocks.com has broken down these facts into a very digestable, detailed, yet understandable interactive map.

As you can see from the image, those in Lower Moreland are fairly into four areas. According to the site, the map uses data from Census reports.

"All data comes from the 2007 to 2011Â American Community Survey. The statewide middle range covers Census Tracts which have a median monthly rent higher than the lowest 40 percent - and lower than the highest 40 percent - of this state's Census Tracts," says the map's "disclaimer."
An entire quarter of the municipality has no renters at all. That eastern-most corner shows no rent in the area.
The northern-most quarter, however slips in as the lowest rent payers. The average renter in the area ranging from County Line Road to Bryn Athyn and to Block Road pay only $397 per month in avereage rent costs.Â
Just a hop, skip and jump over Bryn Athyn and you'll find quite a different price range for township residents renting there. Those in the southwest corner of the township are paying around $608 per month! Just a few city blocks on a map make quite a difference to the wallet, with a difference of $211 more a month in average cost.
That, however, isn't the worst of it.
The renters in the far southeast of the municipality are shelling out $1,063. In other words, someone living at the corner of Byberry and Buck Road are paying $666 less than somone renting at Philmont Avenue and Red Lion Road, though they live less than two miles apart in the same community.
