Stranger Knocks on Neighbor's Doors to Practice Speech, Police Say

A man allegedly has been knocking on doors in Lower Moreland and telling homeowners he needs to practice public speaking.

On March 10, Lower Moreland Police were contacted after a resident reported a suspicious person knocking on doors on the 140 block of Clearview Ave.

The resident stated that an unknown man knocked on his door and said he was rehearsing for public speaking. The man was described as in his 20’s, 5-foot-8’ inches, 190 pounds, dark hair and no facial hair. He was also wearing a backwards baseball cap a gray hooded sweatshirt.

The resident told the man not to knock on doors because of recent burglaries in the neighborhood. Neighbors saw the man walk up to several other homes on Clearview Ave. and knocking on the front door, except one home that was recently burglarized, and that is why the resident contacted police. The resident attempted to snap a picture of the man, but he had run off towards Pond View Lane.
