Water Main Construction to Take Place Along Red Lion Road
The water main replacement project in Lower Moreland will start May 20 and is expected to last until July.
Lower Moreland Township’s website has announced that an Aqua water main replacement project will take place at Red Lion Road between Philmont Avenue and Kirk Drive, starting May 20.
Road closure at this location is expected to last until 9 – 3 p.m. daily through the project’s completion through July. According to a May 6 Aqua press release, some Saturdays may be necessary to keep the project on schedule.
The release states that the project has a value of $370,500, and will involve the installation of 1,048 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main, which will replace the exsiting 6-inch cast iron main.

The township’s Aqua Infrastructure Improvements web page, new water mains will increase service reliability and improve firefighting capabilities in the area, and Aqua will have an inspector on the job each day to answer residents’ questions.
Regular Township, emergency, mail and trash services will continue, and residents and businesses will have access to their properties.
