1 Severely Injured In Head-On Route 422 Crash
A dump truck swerved into head-on traffic in Montgomery County, state police said.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA β One person was severely injured after a dump truck lost control on Route 422 and smashed into an SUV on Friday, officials said.
The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes between Oaks exit and the Trooper Road exit at around 9:15 a.m.
State police described a "loaded tri-axle dump truck" that swerved off the left side of the westbound lanes of the highway, smashed through the wire barrier, and ran head-on into traffic in the eastbound lanes.

The truck hit a silver Ford SUV, before overturning and spilling its cargo into the roadway, officials said.
The driver of the Ford was rushed to the hospital, but is not expected to survive, state police said. The dump truck driver suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

Route 422 was shut down for hours as the accident was cleaned up.
State police are continuing to investigate.
