The 76ers Are Coming To Montgomery County
Players and coaches will put on a clinic for local students to kick off "NBA Fit Week."

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Members of the Philadelphia 76ers organization will be on hand in the borough on Thursday to help kick off NBA Fit Week and Independence Blue Cross’ Healthy Futures Initiative.
Player Robert Covington and Coach Billy Lange will be on hand, along with World B. Free and the Sixers Dance Team.
The group will hold a 76 minute clinic with 50 students from St. Francis of Assisi Middle School, at the school, beginning Thursday morning.

Attending children will each be given “Fit76” shirts sponsored by the Independence Blue Cross Foundation.
The “Fit76” Clinic will occur in conjunction with the NBA’s FIT Week initiative.

Independence Blue Cross Foundation’s Healthy Futures initiative is a three-year, $3 million comprehensive, collaborative approach to combating obesity and improving child wellness in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Healthy Futures focuses on three components of healthy living — “Eat Right,” “Get Fit,” and “Stay Well” — each brought to life in area schools through partnerships with national and regional leaders with expertise in nutrition, fitness, and preventative health.
The Sixers are a “Get Fit” partner, providing a school-based basketball clinic to fourth through sixth graders in schools in Southeastern Pennsylvania,

ABOUT NBA FIT WEEK
NBA FIT is the League’s year-round program encouraging people to be active, eat healthy, and play together. Led by the NBA, its teams and players, NBA FIT aims to inspire fans of all ages to “Be Active, Eat Healthy, and Play Together,” and teach values of the game like hard work, discipline, leadership and teamwork. Beginning Jan. 21, fans are encouraged to personally commit to leading healthy, active lifestyles by taking the Total Health Pledge, and sharing their pledges on social media using #NBAFIT and #TotalHealthPledge.
