Drunk Driver Charged With Homicide In Lower Providence Crash: DA
Devon Lindeman, 23, of Allentown, faces charges in Montgomery County in connection with a Sept. vehicle crash death in Lower Providence.
LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — County and local authorities have announced the arrest of a Lehigh Valley man charged in connection with a vehicle crash that caused the death of a Chester County man last month.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office along with Lower Providence Township Police officials have announced the arrest of Allentown resident Devon Lindeman, 23, on charges of homicide by vehicle DUI, aggravated assault DUI and other violations, stemming from a Sept. 18 crash in Lower Providence that took the life of 63-year-old Paul Conaway and severely injured two passenger's in Conaway's vehicle.
The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. on South Park Avenue near Falcon Road, according to the D.A.'s Office. Police arrived on scene to find that a 2021 BMW driven by Lindeman had collided with a 2017 Infinity driven by Conaway.

The accident left Conaway needing to be transported to Einstein Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just over an hour later.
According to information found within a criminal complaint in the case, an autopsy performed on Conaway by forensic pathologist Khalil Wardak of the Montgomery County Coroner's Office determined that he had died as a result of multiple blunt impact injuries resulting from the crash.

Prosecutors said the 53-year-old front seat passenger and the 23-year-old rear passenger in Conaway's vehicle both required treatment at Paoli Trauma Hospital. Two passengers in Lindeman's vehicle declined treatment for injuries at the scene but later sought treatment at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Investigators with both the Lower Providence Police Department and the county Detective Bureau determined that Lindeman had been driving northbound on South Park Avenue when he crossed the yellow center line and hit the Infinity head on.
Data from the BMW showed that the vehicle was driving at about 68 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone. Police say that Lindeman had a blood-alcohol content of .104 at the time, which is well over the legal limit in Pennsylvania.
"Crash investigators determined that the cause of the crash was directly related to the combination of Lindeman's level of impairment, the extreme recklessness and carelessness in the manner of operation of his vehicle and the speed of the vehicle, with intentional heavy acceleration just before the crash," states a news release from the D.A.'s Office.
Lindeman was scheduled to be arraigned some time on Friday before Magisterial District Judge Scott T. Palladino, at which time a preliminary hearing on the charges would be scheduled.
