Gun Pulled During Argument At Montco's King Of Prussia Mall
The woman who pulled the gun said she feared for her safety. She had a license to carry and was not criminally charged in the incident.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — A patron of the Five Guys burger restaurant at the King of Prussia mall pulled out a gun on Thursday after local police say she was involved in an altercation with other customers.
The Upper Merion Township Police Department reported that the incident, which took place around lunchtime on Thursday, involved a woman who was licensed to carry and legally had a gun on her at the time she got into an argument with three other women.
The woman told officers that after the initial argument, she walked away to wait for her food order to be prepared, at which time at least two of the other women re-approached her and continued the argument.

The woman said she then pulled out her legally owned gun in an effort to diffuse the situation, police stated.
In a press release, Upper Merion Township Police wrote that the woman claimed she pulled out a gun from her purse because she believed she was about to be assaulted by the other women.

No shots were fired, and the woman put the gun back into her purse, police said, but when she went back to the counter to retrieve her food, she claims the other women attempted to re-engage her in an additional altercation.
No weapons were displayed during the second argument, however, and nobody was injured during the incident, police said.
Multiple bystanders ended up fleeing the food court area of the mall when they saw the gun pulled out, police said.
Meanwhile, an Upper Merion Township officer who was already on-duty at the mall quickly arrived at the scene, took possession of the gun, and temporarily placed the woman into custody.
"Based on the investigation and after conferring with the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, no charges are being filed at this time as a result of this incident," Upper Merion Township Police said in a statement. "The female who produced the gun did possess it legally and has a permit to carry a concealed weapon in Montgomery County. Since no criminal charges have been filed in this incident, the names of those involved will not be released."
Police are continuing to investigate, and they ask anyone with additional information about the incident to call 610-265-3232.
