KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — A 56-year-old Montgomery County man is being charged with allegedly attempting to meet up with a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex, but who turned out to be an undercover detective who investigates sexual crimes against children.

Mark Morris, of King of Prussia, faces multiple felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor, attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and a slew of other charges.

The case began when an undercover detective from Conshohocken Borough, who works with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force run out of the county District Attorney's Office, began communicating with a man later identified as Morris who said he wanted to meet a 13-year-old for sex, according to the office of Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele.

The detective, whose name is being withheld by Patch because he works in an undercover capacity, wrote in his affidavit that on Nov. 11 he took on the identity of a fictitious 13-year-old girl and posted "Bored ... Entertain me" on a social media platform.

A man with the screen name 'Daddy1010' began communicating with the girl in a sexually explicit manner, saying he wanted to meet the girl in person and perform sex acts on her, according to the District Attorney's Office.

On Nov. 12, Morris sent a message to the account that he thought was the 13-year-old girl saying that he wanted to meet in person. A meeting place and time was then arranged, and when Morris arrived at the area hotel that was to serve as the meeting place, he was taken into custody by detectives, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Following his arrest, Morris was arraigned on Nov. 12 before Magisterial District Judge Suzan Leonard, who set bail at $25,000 cash, with additional conditions being that Morris has no unsupervised contacts with minors and that he not use any social media.

Morris was released after posting bail, according to the D.A.'s Office.

Courts records show that a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 24 before Magisterial District Judge Deborah Lukens.

The case will be prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Caroline Goldstein of the Family Protection Unit.
