LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Fire crews were called to the scene of an electrical fire Wednesday afternoon, and when they arrived they discovered sparking and flaming arched power lines suspended between utility poles along the 2600 block of Audubon Road.

Upon arrival on the second scene, Engine 53 located a malfunctioning generator and fixed the gas leak. Fire crews subsequently contacted PECO and notified the manager of the commercial property, the fire department stated.

Power outages were expected to last a little while in the area while crews worked on repairs.
Fire police personnel with the Norristown Fire Department, Jeffersonville Fire Department and Worcester Volunteer Fire Department assisted with controlling traffic at both scenes.
