Lower Providence Opens Auditorium As Cooling Center

As sweltering heat sweeps across the region, the township is taking action.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA β€” With the heat reaching dangerous temperatures, local communities are trying to find ways to stay cool.

Lower Providence Township will open a cooling center at the township auditorium this weekend, July 20 and July 21.

The cooling center will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to cover the day's hottest hours.

Temperatures could soar over 100 degrees this week, with the heat index ranging up to 110 or higher.

The air-conditioned auditorium is located on 100 Parkland Drive in Eagleville. It includes electrical outlets to charge devices.
