Trading Cards Highlight Each Of Lower Providence Police Department's 30 Officers
The Lower Providence Police Department has gotten a set of trading cards made up for kids and collectors. They feature all 30 officers.
LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — The Lower Providence Police department recently had a set of trading cards designed for kids and collectors in the community who would like to try their hand at something other than the typical baseball card collection.
The suburban police department had a set of police trading cards made up for each of the 30 officers on the force.
“Make sure to say hello as you see the officers driving through your neighborhood, or at an event and ask them for their card,” reads a message on the department’s Facebook page.

The announcement has become somewhat of a contest of sorts, as the department says that whoever collects all 30 police trading cards first and brings them to the Lower Providence Police station will win a die-cast LPPD patrol vehicle.
So far, people seem to have taken a liking to the unique community relations-building concept.

“What a great idea to get the community involved in a positive way with the police,” Stacey Horning commented on the department’s Facebook post. “Love it! Stay safe!!”
“What a wonderful idea!” added Kera Hamilton. “Knowing the officers only adds to the feeling of being well protected in the township.”
The Facebook post had around 60 comments at the time of this story’s publication, and an overwhelming majority of those were positive.
Other folks said they can remember the cards making an appearance years ago in their own youth, and they commended the police department for bringing them back for a new generation of young collectors.
“Glad to see the cards make a comeback,” wrote Cara Coless. “Thanks to all our officers and Chief [Michael] Jackson.”
The department said the following sponsors donated toward the trading card project:
Rebar Kelly Attorneys at Law; Streamlight Inc.; Furey & Baldassari, P.C.; Cornerstone Fellowship; Police & Fire Credit Union; and Baldassari Landscaping.
