"We are happy to welcome him aboard and wish him the best of luck throughout his career here with us at LPPD," the police department stated on its Facebook page. "Officer Foy has already started his elaborate Field Training program, so make sure to say hello if you see him out in the community."
The Lower Providence Police Department has just over 30 officers and one civilian dispatcher and serves a community of just under 26,000 residents in a geographic area of around 14.77 square miles, according to the police department's website.
The department became an accredited law enforcement agency back in December 2006, which it says distinguishes itself from other police agencies across the commonwealth.
