Lower Providence has found a new Director of Community Development and Zoning Officer in Ryan Fazio, a Whitpain resident with about 20 years of civil engineering experience, according to The Times Herald.
Fazio, who began his position on June 24, supervises Permit Coordinator Cheryl Imes and Code Enforcement Officers Jeff Vogels and Michael Rohlfing. According to Fazio, he handles ordinance and zoning reviews for site plans that are submitted, as well as permit reviews for construction permits and zoning permits.
“The part of the job I really enjoy is helping the resident or the developer do what they want to do by maintaining township regulations,” Fazio said. “I’m the bridge between those two things. All permitting has to go through this department. Half the time when you talk it out with people you educate them about the regulations and avoid any conflict that might occur.”

Fazio graduated from Norristown Area High School and received an associate degree in architectural design from the American Institute of Design. He worked for 20 years in the civil engineering field and then created Fazio Consulting in 2009 where he worked with small businesses to create marketing videos and Websites.
