Methacton Junior Serves as Cheer Coach, Role Model
Methacton's Sammie Davenport often runs from cheering at varsity games to coaching the newbies at Methacton Warriors practice.
In honor of National Volunteer Week, Patch is taking a look at local volunteers in our communities.
Methacton High School Junior Sammie Davenport has been a junior coach for the Methacton Warriors for the past four years, willingly donating her personal time to help the cheerleading squad.
Sammie helps to run a cheer camp in the summer and volunteers several nights a week and at least one day each weekend to help coach.

As a member of the Methacton High School Varsity Cheerleader, she never misses a game, practice or competition, according to her mom, Jennifer Maaskant.
"Over the past two years she has cheered at a high school football game and then has immediately driven to Temple afterwards to cheer on her Warrior team," said Maaskant. "She would never let them down... I think for a junior in high school that could be doing so many other things, she has become an incredible role model to so many girls."
