With Minimal Ballots Left Countywide, The Methacton School Board Race Is All But Assured
Two Republicans, one incumbent Democrat and a candidate who ran cross-party appear to have won election to the Methacton School Board.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — The Methacton School Board race appears to have come to a close, with two Republicans joining one incumbent Democrat and one candidate who ran cross-party as the apparent winners of last week's contest.
As of this past weekend, there were only 97 mail-in ballots left to be tallied countywide, so the unofficial results that have been released by Montgomery County elections officials for this particular race are unlikely to change much.
In the end, the candidate who won the most votes — 5,741 — was Jennifer Cancro, who cross-filed, running as both a Republican and Democrat. Cancro was an incumbent who was first elected to the board back in 2017.

Coming in next was Elizabeth Drummond, an incumbent Democrat and currently the school board's vice president. She won 5,437 votes.

Lastly was Republican candidate Greg Young, who received 5,369 votes.
Drummond, the incumbent who appears to have won reelection, said that while she is reluctant to speak too much before the results are certified, if she did won reelection, she was pleased since it shows that community members are behind the work of the current board.
"I'm proud of all the CARE Team has accomplished such as full-day Kindergarten, mental health therapists in all of our schools, and a new Arrowhead [elementary] school," Drummond told Patch. "Our public schools are the backbone of our communities and I look forward to working with new members of the board as we continue moving Methacton forward."
The Republicans in the race ran under the moniker 'Heart For Methacton School Board.'
