Methacton Schools WILL Be In Session Wednesday
Conflicting media reports confused parents, but school WILL be on for Methacton students this Halloween.

Just in time for ghosts and goblins, the Methacton schools and administrative offices WILL resume classes tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 31, Halloween Day.
Conflicting early reports from KYW1060 radio station, CBS3 television and website and NBC10 reports made many in the district think school was closed. However, an emergency alert call went out to parents at 6:17 p.m. to confirm school would in fact be in session.
Many families in the school district are still without power at this hour, but all are expected to attend tomorrow's classes or call the specific school with an excusable absence. Those in the know are asked to reach families still without power to convey the open school message.

The Methacton School District's own school closing hotline (610-831-5331) reported as late as 6 p.m. Tuesday that it was unsure of Wednesday's open status. The hotline reported that only two of Methacton's schools had power Tuesday.
Angela Linch, Methacton's Coordinator of Communications and Community Services, also confirmed that school is on for tomorrow.

PECO expects to restore or already has restored power to all eight of the district's school buildings and administrative offices. The district includes a Methacton High School, Arcola Intermediate School, Skyview Upper Elementary School, as well as Arrowhead, Audubon, Eagleville, Woodland and Worcester elementary schools.
Methacton missed two days, Monday and Tuesday, due to Hurricane Sandy. High winds, rain and flooding caused area power outages, dangerous road conditions and several fires in the area.
