Methacton Teacher Arrested for Alleged Illicit Relationship with a Student

Sean Michael McCullough is accused of having sexual relationship with one of his female students at Methacton High School.

According to Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman, and Lower Providence Police Chief Francis Caroll, a Methacton High School teacher has been arrested for Endagering the Welfare of Child, Corruption of Minors, Possession of Child Pornography and related offenses.

Sean Michael McCullough, a current high school English teacher at Methacton School District, allegedly promoted and maintained a sexual relationship with one of his minor female students, during the 2009 and 2010 school years.

The report states that McCullough was the female student's teacher during her freshman through senior years in high school. The sexually inappropriate relationship began during her senior year, while McCullough was her Gifted Seminar teacher.

Furthermore, the report states that McCullough's inappropriate relationship with his student included sexually explicit Facebook communications, e-mails, the exchange of nude photos, and inappropriate sexual contact.

In a statement to police, McCullough admitted to having an inappropriate sexual relationship with the victim while she was still a minor, authorities said.

District Justice Catherine Rebar will arraign the defendant at 4 p.m. this afternoon. Assistant District Attorney Samantha Cauffman is assigned to prosecute the case.
