Monday's Storms Cause Flooding in Lower Providence [PHOTOS]

Monday's storm system caused flooding throughout the area, and made a mess of evening rush hour.

A storm system that passed through the area on Monday caused flooding thoughout Lower Providence and the surrounding communities, leaving evening commuters searching for a dry route home.

By 6 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a myriad of incidents, including:

  • A water rescue at Green Hill Road and Anders Road in Worcester.
  • A building fire at Forge Avenue and Trooper Road.
  • Hazardous road conditions at Trooper Road and Industry Lane, Township Line Road and North Wales Road, and Woodland Avenue and Tomstock Road.

Additionally, Lower Providence Patch readers began sending in reports of flooding on Rogers Road, as well as the intersection of Ridge and Trooper.

Reports from readers continued to pour into the Lower Providence Patch, until the storm system passed and the waters began to recede a few hours later.
