Man Shot By Cops In Montco After Firing At Officers: Authorities
Upper Providence and Limerick officers were involved in a shooting early Wednesday morning with an unstable man who fired a gun at them.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — A man was shot early Wednesday morning by police in Montgomery County after he fired his weapon at officers who had responded to a report of an unstable individual.
The man, whose identity was not released, was shot in the arm by police after he shot at them around 3 a.m. Wednesday during an incident outside of the Meadows condominium complex in the Mont Clare section of Upper Providence Township, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.
According to prosecutors, both Upper Providence Township and Limerick Township police were dispatched at 2:59 a.m. for a call about a family member who had been suffering from a "mental health emergency."

The caller had stated that the man had gathered multiple firearms and put them in his pickup truck.
After crashing his truck in the parking lot of the condo complex, the man got out of his truck and began firing at responding officers, the D.A.'s Office stated.

Police officers returned fire and struck the man in the arm.
Prosecutors said that the man was taken to Paoli Hospital for treatment and that he is expected to survive his injuries.
The D.A.'s Office is not yet releasing the name or names of the officer or officers who shot the individual as the investigation is ongoing.
