New Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital Planned For Montgomery County

Encompass Health Corp. says it plans to construct the new 50-bed, inpatient rehab hospital in Lower Providence Township.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — A new rehabilitation hospital is planned for this central Montgomery County community.

Encompass Health Corp. announced that it plans to construct a 50-bed, in-patient rehab facility at 2660 Audubon Road in Lower Providence Township.

The company says that the planned facility will be its tenth inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the commonwealth.

"We are excited to expand and grow our rehabilitation services in Southeast Pennsylvania," Pat Tuer, president of Encompass Health's northeast region, said in a statement. "We remain committed to making a difference in the communities we serve by improving access to high-quality, individualized rehabilitative care, and this new hospital will allow even more residents to receive specialized care close to home."

Encompass, which says it is the largest owner and operator of rehab facilities in the country, said that the new Lower Providence hospital would complement local acute care services, and would serve patients recovering from a variety of debilitating illness and injuries, such as strokes and brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.

The facility will offer 24-hour nursing care, physical, occupational and speech therapies, and will come complete with private patient rooms, an onsite gym, cafeteria, dining room, pharmacy and therapy courtyard.

The company says that it runs 152 hospitals in 36 states and Puerto Rico.

Encompass Health, which is a publicly traded company, is based in Birmingham, Alabama.
